Marilyn Monroe ABC >> J >> Joe DiMaggio

Marilyn Monroe married New York's Yankee player Joe DiMaggio on January 14th, 1954. The two met years before but seriously started dating in 1952. Joe traveled to Canada to visit Marilyn during her production of Niagara. After their marriage in San Francisco, the couple headed to Japan for their short honeymoon, after Marilyn headed to Korea alone to perform for the soldiers. Joe accompanied Marilyn to New York City where Marilyn filmed The Seven Year Itch. This was where Marilyn and Joe's marriage started to rock. Joe was getting jealous of the attention Marilyn was getting during her famous subway scene. She kept flashing her dress showing her panties to her fans. Joe was angry and ended up leaving. It is rumored that Joe beat Marilyn later on that night but no one saw any marks on Marilyn the next day. After The Seven Year Itch Marilyn and Joe returned to California where on October 6th, Marilyn announced her and Joe were divorcing. Years went by and they still kept in contact. In 1960-1961 they started really talking and seeing each other more. In 1961 and 1962 they were back together as an unofficial couple. There was rumor of another marriage between the two, but only they know. Marilyn called Joe's son, Joe DiMaggio Jr, the night she died. Joe made Marilyn's funeral arraignments. Joe DiMaggio's last words were, "I'll finally get to see Marilyn." Rest In Peace, you two.
